Data acquisition in Hungary came to the end of its first stage

Data acquisition in Hungary came to the end of its first stage, the aim of which was to collect the relevant data of the on-duty health care and pharmacy services in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. The data acquired in the course of this stage will constitute the basis of the ‘on-duty health care monitoring service’ to be developed in the framework of the project.

The secondary data survey was completed in the first stage of data acquisition. The objectives of secondary research included the survey of data of on-duty health care services, clinics and pharmacies on the territory, identifying as much information as possible from among the items already presented in the course of preparations, the assessment of the data and the environment of the data displayed by the owner of the information, checking and analysis of the reliability of data.

Several sources of data have been explored and utilised for the compilation of the address list of on-duty service sites and the service providers active on-duty, partly through the sectoral data owners, partly the online media and also based upon the information provided by the mobile data suppliers.

Owing to the data collected from several sources, a set of data incorporating relatively accurate information on the sites and services of on-duty clinics and pharmacies, which must be validated by means of on-site data acquisition in the field of (primary data acquisition) and complemented as required.

The database set up includes the data of 267 pharmacies, also including the branch pharmacies and 27 in-clinic pharmacies which are irrelevant for the project. According to the result of the research, 49 pharmacies are on-duty at the same time, however, at this stage it is not clear which are the participating pharmacies, this information will be identified only when the on-site data survey is completed.

The work is continued with primary data acquisition and the simultaneously ongoing software development. The mobile and web applications making the data available are developed in the framework of this latter activity.

The on-duty health care service monitoring system is scheduled to be completed by September, 2014, therefore, it will be available for use already this year.
