Implementation of the project completed

With the conference held on November 28-29, the implementation of the Health Info project was practically completed.

The essential objective of the conference was to present the shared online on-duty health care service monitoring system developed in the framework of the project for the support of emergency situations.

The objective of the project was the implementation of a sample project on the designated areas of the Hungarian – Slovak border region (Borsod-Abaúj Zemplén County and Kosice County).

The presentation was special and interesting – similarly to the presentation in Miskolc – due to the fact that the presentation was held on one of the selected sample areas.

In the course of the workshop, the participants were given an update on the background of the project, the justification of the development, its process and features. The application itself was naturally presented in the framework of the workshop and it was received very favourably.

The most important features of the service: display on the map; listing of the nearest on-duty health care services on the basis of GPS and cell information; continuously updated database; navigation options; access to the application through several platforms.

The significance of the application is that it provides up-to-date data about the on-duty health care services available and provides a list of the on-duty health care service providers, which are the nearest and can be accessed fastest.

By means of the services, the people living and working in the area as well as the visitors may have a greater level of safety in case of eventual emergencies. The project may serve as a model also for other regions, countries and subject areas.

After closing the project enters the stage of continuous operation in the course of which efforts will be made to continuously update the database with authentic data. It is also our objective to extend the service to additional (geographic) areas, in the first stage, to the two countries concerned.

Another public presentation

The service developed was also presented in the framework of a workshop in Miskolc on November 20. The speciality and interesting feature of the presentation were the arrangement of the presentation on one of the selected sample area.

In the course of the workshop, the participants were given an update on the background of the project, the justification of the development, its process and features. The application itself was naturally presented in the framework of the workshop and it was received very favourably.

The significance of the application is that it provides up-to-date data about the on-duty health care services available and provides a list of the on-duty health care service providers, which are the nearest and can be accessed fastest.

The participants of the presentation could experience this first hand, and they had a very positive opinion about the implementation of the project and the implementing agencies of the project were also encouraged to further develop the system.

It may also serve as a model for other countries and regions

Organised by the EUROPÉER Foundation, a workshop was held in Miskolc, at the Széchenyi street 32, on November 20, 2014.

Established in the framework of a joint cross-border cooperation, the Health Info Project has been presented by Dr. Zsolt Pásztor. Árpád Kun gave a professional presentation about the On-duty Medical Care Monitoring System and demonstrated the use of NonStopMed in practice. The workshop on November 20 ended with a round-table discussion.

The EUROPÉER Public Benefit Foundation for European Development and Cooperation (in brief: EUROPÉER Foundation – www.europeer.eu), as a lead partner and the Regionálna rozvojová agentúra prerozvoj Dolného Zemplína (RRA DZ – www.rradz.sk ) as the partner in Slovakia, started a joint project in October, 2012 in the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 for the establishment of a joint online on-duty medical care monitoring system to handle unexpected situations in the selected areas of the Hungarian-Slovak border region. Identification number of the project: HUSK/1001/1.4.1/0019. The information related to the on-duty medical care and services do not belong to the everyday interests of people. Only emergencies direct the attention to the importance of such data. Especially if it is necessary to find an on-duty clinic open at night, a pharmacy open during the holidays or a dentist consulting on the weekend, in our own country or abroad.

Online on-duty health care monitoring system

The objective of the project was to establish a joint online on-duty medical care monitoring system to handle unexpected situations in the selected areas of the Hungarian – Slovak border region (Borsod-Abaúj Zemplén County and Kosice County) – highlighted Dr. Zsolt Pásztor. The aim of the development was to create a client application searching on-duty clinic or pharmacy, which is available also through the operating system of mobile phones and web browsers.

The application uses the actual GPS position of the user (defined by the user’s mobile phone) or the address defined by the user and shows the nearest on-duty clinic, pharmacy with their typical data.

The hits can be displayed in text and also on maps. The application promotes contact to the institutions (direct call) as well as route planning and access to the institution subject to the features of the device applied.

The application also contains additional supplementary functions to facilitate use (e.g., search, information, etc.). The application developed has the following main features: Map-based search functions to find on-duty pharmacy and clinic. Refining search according to various criteria. Detailed page of institutions, with information typical of the institution. Saving favourite institutions, list of institutions viewed recently. Useful information (emergency telephones, information related to on-duty services, etc.). Option to send feedback message.

The application has been developed for mobile operation systems and web browsers: Android, Windows Phone, iOS mobile operation systems or other modern web browsers (the use of Cookies and Javascript must be allowed)

Direct target groups of the on-duty service monitoring system: Citizens living and studying in the project area, students and employees arriving from other regions. Offices, hotels, tourism facilities in the area and people arriving in the project region (tourists, business people, etc.)

Multiplier effect

The most important features of the service to be developed: display on the map; listing of the nearest on-duty health care services on the basis of GPS and cell information; continuously updated database; navigation options; access to the application through several platforms. The significance of the application is that, ignoring the national boundaries, it provides regional up-to-date data about the on-duty health care services available and generates a list of the on-duty health care service providers, which are the nearest and can be accessed fastest.

The project may serve as a model also for other regions, countries and subject areas. The project has a significant multiplier effect as it can be extended to additional parts of the two countries, to other countries as well as to additional subject areas.

The first public demonstration completed

The public presentation of the service developed in the framework of the project was held in the framework of the workshop on November 18 in Budapest.

In the course of the workshop, the participants were given an update on the background of the project, the justification of the development, its process and features. The application itself was naturally presented in the framework of the workshop and it was received very favourably.

The application includes the consulting hours and on-duty data of the on-duty health care services and pharmacies in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County and Kosice County.

The significance of the application is that it provides up-to-date data about the on-duty health care services available and provides a list of the on-duty health care service providers, which are the nearest and can be accessed fastest.

Primary data acquisition completed also on the Slovak side

Primary data acquisition was completed also on the Slovak side, covering Kosice County. In the course of data acquisition, the relevant data of clinics for children, adults and dentistries, as well as pharmacies concerning their on-duty services were collected in Kosice County.

After the complete loading of the data into the IT system, through the nonstopmed.info website, the data about the on-duty health care services for Kosice County will also be available in the on-duty health care service monitoring system developed in this way – over and above the data of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.

In addition to the web applications, the system will also be soon available on the most popular platforms (iOS, android, WindowsPhone) through the applications developed, which can be downloaded from the relevant mobile app stores.

One critical element of the maintenance and usability of the system is the regular upgrading of the on-duty data, keeping them up-to-date, which is to be highly emphasised in the future.

We wish that you will need the use of the on-duty health care service monitoring system (nonstopmed) as seldom as possible, at the same time, we propose that you make use of the service as frequently as you can.
